Acura is the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company. The Acura brand has been available in the US, Canada, and Hong Kong since March 1986 marketing luxury, performance, and near-performance vehicles. Acura holds the distinction of being the first Japanese automotive luxury brand. In its first few years of existence, Acura was among the best-selling luxury brands in the US. Though sales were down in the mid-to-late 1990s, Acura experienced a revival in the early 2000s, due to drastic redesigns and the introductions of new models.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb , also known as The Race to the Clouds, is an annual automobile and motorcycle hillclimb to the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA. The track measures 12.42 miles over 156 turns, climbing 4,720ft from the start at Mile 7 on Pikes Peak Highway, to the finish at 14,110ft , on grades averaging 7%. It used to consist of both gravel and paved sections, however as of August 2011, the highway is fully paved and as a result all subsequent runnings will be on tarmac from start to finish.
