Brian Wolk and Claude Morais are the creative designers behind the critically acclaimed New York fashion house Ruffian. The designers received The Fashion Group international Rising Star Award and are members of the influential Council of Fashion Designers of America. Favoring a modern take on the Victorian aesthetic, they create unity through contrast by drawing inspiration from the silver screen, European court culture, and America's rich cultural lexicon. Their design philosophy stays true to the couture tradition, passionate in detailing and with using only textiles of the finest quality and construction. Their distinctive haute style is as romantic as it is ready-to-wear. In each collection, culture seamlessly mixes with counter-culture; classic with cutting edge, punk with princess. Ruffian de-constructs archetypes and then rebuilds them slightly askew. Since their 2004 launch, Ruffian has caught the attention of the worlds leading high-fashion media garnering features in The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Italian Vogue, W, Elle, Teen Vogue, Nylon and WWD.
