About Sponsor:

Bridgestone Corporation is a multinational rubber conglomerate founded in 1931 by Shojiro Ishibashi in the city of Kurume, Fukuoka, Japan. The name Bridgestone comes from a calque translation and transposition of ishibashi, meaning "stone bridge" in Japanese.

About Property:

The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is a Verizon IndyCar Series race held in St. Petersburg, Florida. Since 2009, the race has served as the season opener, with the exception of 2010, when it was the second race of the season (but the first on U.S. soil). The race is held annually in the spring, currently in late March, coinciding with spring break.

PETERSBURG, Fla., Nov. 20, 2013 – Green Savoree St. Petersburg LLC (GSSP) announced today it will join forces with Firestone for the opening race of the 2014 IndyCar Series season – the newly-titled Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations and GSSP, the promoter of the downtown waterfront event, entered a multi-year agreement as entitlement sponsor, beginning with the race on March 28-30, 2014.
