The Nation’s Triathlon to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a Competitor Group event, was founded in 2006 and is one of the premiere International distance triathlons in the United States. It is the only triathlon in the nation dedicated to funding research toward a cure for blood cancers. Set against the magnificent and patriotic setting of the nation’s capital and its monuments, participants in The Nation’s Triathlon will swim 1.5k in the Potomac River, bike 40k through scenic vistas and parkways, and run 10k through downtown D.C. Official sponsors for the 2012 race include: AT&T, Clif Bar, Clif Shot, Craft, Gatorade, Giant, Gryphon Technologies, The Jackson Clinics, Karhu, Pacers Running Stores, PNC Bank, Spirit Airlines, VIDA Fitness, and Xterra Wetsuits.
