Gemfields PLC is an AIM-listed multinational natural resources company headquartered in London, United Kingdom, specialising in the mining, processing and sale of coloured gemstones, in particular emeralds. The group’s operations are mainly based in Zambia where emeralds possess a range of green colours and are cheaper in comparison to their Colombian and Brazilian counterparts. Gemfields produces approximately 20% of the world’s emerald supply.
