Powerade is sports drink manufactured and marketed by The Coca-Cola Company. First introduced in 1988, its primary competitor is PepsiCo's Gatorade. As of December 2010, Powerade has grown to take 21.7 percent of the United States market in its category, compared to Gatorade's 77.2 percent.
Weplay, an American online community site for young athletes, parents, coaches, families and teams involved in youth sports, launched in March 2008. The venture was conceived as a joint venture between Creative Artists Agency, the venture capital arm of New York-based hedge fund Pequot Capital and MLB Advanced Media, Internet arm of Major League Baseball.
