It is the second oldest family-owned brewery in the United States, as it has been brewing beer since 1853. Its most popular product is the Saranac line of beers, although soft drinks such at Root Beer and Ginger Beer are also produced by the company.

The Utica Music & Arts Fest is the city's BIGGEST 3 day music festival held in Utica, NY. The festival showcases some of the best unsigned bands and talent in the world, along with the city's hottest restaurant foods and attractions. Hundreds of performers will showcase their music in bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants all over the city. The event center is held at the Hotel Utica in downtown Utica. Concerts/Showcases will be held at the event center and various venues through out the city.
