The Sponsorship and Grassroots Marketing Manager responsible for the oversight and execution of commercial sponsorships as well as localized marketing campaigns. Areas of focus include conceptualizing and working cross functionally to execute sponsorship programs that fully leverage assets (may include mass media, digital, social media, experiential, sweepstakes, etc.); proposing and executing market relevant ideas for community outreach that align with the Brand’s objectives; managing the Field Marketing Specialist; finding and negotiating sponsorships and local/grassroots media opportunities; and building business to business relationships with vendors/venues.
Additional responsibilities include overseeing and executing weekly administrative tasks such as keeping a budget, tracking and reporting of program objectives, goals and metrics within the designated markets, one on one meetings with direct report, etc.
Creatively and proactively look for ways to get the most out of sponsorship and events
Work with outside activation agency to find, negotiate and execute local events
Work with outside creative agency to build creative assets such as printed collateral, grassroots marketing pieces, and at times mass media.
Support regional marketing managers to achieve regional goals through sponsorship and grassroots marketing activities
Seed and develop relationships with market influencers, ultimately leading to increased brand visibility
Collaborate with sales team to ensure awareness of local activities
Assess and present local media opportunities
Communication of success stories, key learnings and event recaps (PowerPoint and Excel)
Ongoing evaluation of programs and campaigns related to performance and reach. Identify areas of opportunity, provide constructive feedback and make recommendations for improvement and growth · Present a positive image, embody leadership qualities to promote the company with confidence and enthusiasm.
Collaborate and influence cross-functionally to promote sponsorship and grassroots activities
Other duties as assigned
Experience negotiating and activating sports sponsorships from the brand side required 4 year degree with emphasis in Marketing, Communications, or other related fields is a plus
Experience managing direct reports required Experience working with outside creative and/or activation agencies required Strong interpersonal communications skills
Excellent computer skills and ability to use MS WORD, Excel Power Point, and Outlook
Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours as events require (including weekends at times)
Spanish fluency is preferred but not required
