The Head of Citi Sponsorships, Partnerships & Entertainment will be responsible for driving brand value, particularly from our global properties and key alliances and is responsible for strategic development and execution of all branded entertainment assets and initiatives including music, sports, culinary and the arts. This role manages Citi’s Entertainment and Sponsorship platforms that provide Citi clients with unique and differentiated experiences and unparalleled reach to connect with global audiences. Citi Entertainment and Experiential includes unparalleled access to sports, music, culinary and the arts.


The position oversees management, operations, logistics, and client activations in sponsor / partner relationships as well as Citi’s relationship with musical personalities, professional athletes, arts & culture providers, as well as manages our sponsorship agency partners.


The successful candidate will be a seasoned marketing executive with a focus on delivering differentiated and best in class client experiences that drive loyalty and client engagement. He / she must be an incredible relationship manager, think like an innovator, welcome change with optimism, be excited by the opportunity to overcome organization challenges, have a superior ability to lead teams through a complex environment with empathy.


Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer for Citi, this role often serves as the face of Citi’s global sponsorship and experiential marketing organization, representing our interests with external partners and works hand in hand with Global and Regional Marketing teams to deliver remarkable outcomes for Citi Clients, ensuring we succeed together.


Responsibilities include:

  • Position Citi’s Global Sponsorships, Entertainment and Culinary/Arts to drive impactful outcomes that deliver against our brand, product & client objectives, driving preference for Citi and increasing partner and consumer demand for Citi products.
  • Deliver flawless operations, logistics, and activation (both Citi activation and client activation) of the global assets.
  • Champion Citi’s global sponsorship and partnership investments across the Citi businesses, internal stakeholders and external partner ecosystem.
  • Co-chair the Sponsorship Advisory Council
  • Deliver Thought Leadership Partnerships across Citi lines of business.
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend, and potentially implement new sponsorship and partnership opportunities that deliver superior experiences for Citi clients.
  • Deliver ROI of sponsorships and bring new innovative ideas / change in partnerships.
  • Partner with key senior leaders with the development, sell-in and ultimate implementation of Citi product innovations within and through its partnerships; showcasing Citi’s products (of today and tomorrow) to consumers and clients.
  • Lead a team of high performing individuals and people managers to deliver on Citi’s most valuable partnership and sponsorship investments.
  • Operate as a marketing thought leader and visionary, with the ability to guide, influence and inspire peak performance across the internal marketing function and external client marketing functions.
  • Strive for client excellence, controls excellence and operational excellence.
  • Holds self and others accountable for managing risks with appropriate governance and controls.


    Required Skills

  • 15+ years’ of experience including 10+ years' managerial experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in marketing for multinational organizations, (Global, Regional, or Local Market Office).
  • A track record of major success in marketing, reinvigorating, growing and sustaining significant brand equities with deep consumer appeal
  • Deep experience in sports and music sponsorships with experience negotiating large / complex contracts (specifically in entertainment, sports and the arts)
  • Demonstrated ability to understand ROI of sponsorships experience bringing new innovative ideas/change in partnerships to a company

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management/building skills, experience in client management and/or agency side is a plus.
  • Understanding of the key assets related to music, sports and cultural events, and experience activating the experiences is preferred.
  • Demonstrated digital marketing competence
  • Must be able to deliver clear and measurable results through various marketing channels and improve integration of Citi’s digital marketing capabilities and acquisitions
  • Demonstrated understanding of various functional marketing areas with the ability to drive strategic direction


    Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires travel for work 30% of the time.
