Big Queer Food Fest is a multi-day food festival celebrating the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to the culinary world. BQFF was founded to highlight the incredible contributions of the queer community within the culinary world. The first multi-day event of its kind, the BQFF builds on the legacy of luminaries such as James Beard, Craig Clairborne, and Elka Gilmore to elevate world-renowned and locally based queer chefs, tastemakers, and food purveyors. By coming together to break bread and celebrate the way food can connect us, we honor the often unknown, frequently unsung role of the queer community in shaping the current state of global cuisine.We hope you’ll join us at the table. Our mission is to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community's contributions to the world of food and drink and advocate for greater representation in the culinary world. BQFF is dedicated to inspiring and educating the queer community and the world at large about the richness of queer culinary heritage and its indelible impact on America's gastronomic landscape. We strive to honor the past, champion the present, and pave the way for the future by amplifying the voices and increasing the visibility of queer chefs, culinary entrepreneurs, and purveyors. BQFF is thrilled to have an incredible number of celebrity chefs, tastemakers and entertainers already attached to our May of 2024 festival launch including: Melissa King, Billy Eichner, Tiffani Faison, Kim Chi, Gabe Bertaccini, Jon Kung, Karen Akunowicz, Ginger Minj, Damaris Phillips, Zac Young, Mavis-Jay Sanders and many more.
