Awesome Con is DC’s comic and pop culture extravaganza! Over 70,000 fans from the DC Metro Area and beyond met at Awesome Con in 2018 to embrace all aspects of comic and pop culture. In just six years, Awesome Con has grown rapidly into one of the major pop culture conventions in the country, annually featuring over 50 celebrity guests. Past guests have included Stan Lee, David Tennant, William Shatner, Felicia Day, George Takei, Bill Nye, and Adam West, alongside hundreds of exhibitors and artists showcasing their products and creations. Awesome Con also features Future Con, a partnership with Smithsonian Media celebrating science and technology, and the Backlot, spotlighting pop culture history with exciting props and exhibits. Other show highlights include video game and tabletop gaming areas, hundreds of hours of panels and programming, and a dedicated kids area called Awesome Con Jr.
