AEG, T-Wolves Battle for Target Center Wall
If Target, the only company with two major deals in the same city, could rename Minneapolis' 11.5 mile stretch of the Mississippi River, would you put it past them? Now it seems they (or perhaps another advertiser) will have an additional opportunity to dominate the Minneapolis cityscape. That is if the dispute gets settled, as to who has the rights to sell the ad space outside of Target Center, which will be highly visible to fans at the new Target Field. Venue manager, AEG, and the Timberwolves are going to court to settle the wall dispute.
One Star-Tribune reader offered perhaps the easiest solution:
"Just put up a big Target bulls-eye logo with a "Hit me" sign hext to it and be done with it."
Another commenter offered up a more dire suggestion:
"Just put up a giant ad that says "Wanted: professional basketball franchise."
