Brickyard Gets Big Machine As Presenting Sponsor

Want to watch one of your favorite country stars and catch some NASCAR? Now you can do both at the Brickyard. Just a couple weeks after announcing a deal with Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, The Big Machine Label Group has secured presenting sponsorship to the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The move is aimed at merging music and auto racing into a festival-like atmosphere at what will now be known as the Brickyard 400 presented by BigMachineRecords.com. Officials say it is the first time a record label has ever presented a nationally-televised race in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's 100-year history. In terms of cross-over appeal, the alliance makes a lot of sense.

Big Machine Records is a Nashville-based independent record label launched in 2005 and specializing in country music artists, founded by former DreamWorks Records executive Scott Borchetta. The alliance with IMS will help bring a top line-up of country music acts to the event. Big Machine currently represents artists such as Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Trisha Yearwood.

"Music and racing are in my DNA and I've been involved in connecting the two for quite some time. With the recent sponsorship of Dan Wheldon's Indy 500 winning effort, the Big Machine Records brand is more recognizable than ever. Now, the Big Machine Label Group is returning to Indy and bringing superstars Rascal Flatts, Reba, The Band Perry, Justin Moore and others to create an amazing racing & music experience for the fans. If you don't have tickets, run, don't walk – this is going to be an incredible day and you want to be there!" said Borchetta said.

"Big Machine Records represents some of the best artists in country music and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is excited to host several of them on race morning during the Brickyard 400," said Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation President and CEO Jeff Belskus. "Adding this country music festival provides great value to our fans and will make this year's Brickyard 400 a unique and exciting event both on and off the track."
