Bridgestone Buys Naming Rights to Nashville Arena
It's (almost) official. The Sommet Center signs will come down in Music City as the Nashville Arena, home of the NHL's Predators, will now be known as Bridgestone Arena. Yesterday, the Predators requested a meeting with Nashville's Metro Sports Authority in this letter, to approve the deal.
A meeting will be held today to discuss the new naming rights deal. If approved, the arena which has been called Gaylord Entertainment Center and Sommet Center, will be renamed for the third time in the past eleven years.
The deal brings to an end a sorted and strained relationship with former naming rights partner, Sommet Group. The Predators sued the Sommet Group for breach of contract two years into their three year agreement for failure to make naming rights payments.
