CARQUEST Titles Duke-Butler

Duke Athletics and ISP Sports (now a division of IMG College) have secured a deal that will make CARQUEST Auto Parts the title sponsor of the Blue Devils’ basketball game against Butler at the Meadowlands Complex in East Rutherford, N.J.

The “CARQUEST Auto Parts Classic”, which will tip-off at 3:15 p.m. and be televised live by ESPN, will feature the Blue Devils and Bulldogs, who played in last year’s NCAA championship game.

"The ‘CARQUEST Auto Parts Classic’ featuring the outstanding programs from Butler and Duke Universities continues the IZOD Center's unmatched tradition of presenting the best in major college basketball. We are delighted to welcome CARQUEST to the Meadowlands Sports Complex family," stated New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority President and CEO Dennis Robinson.

"We are grateful that CARQUEST Auto Parts has signed on as the title sponsor of this game," said Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski. "We always enjoy traveling to that area of the country due to the strong support we receive. It should be an exciting game. Butler has outstanding personnel and coaching, and we will have our hands full on December 4."

CARQUEST's sponsorships to date have been primarily focused on college football and motorsports. The auto parts chain with over 3,000 locations title sponsored what is today known as the Champs Sports Bowl from '94-'97. In NASCAR, the company is the Official Auto Parts Supplier of Hendricks Motorsports through 2011 and has sponsored the TECH-NET Auto Service 300 powered by Carquest at Charlotte Motor Speedway since 1997.
