Courtyard by Marriott Now The Official Hotel of the NFL

Marriott International has signed a multi-year deal with the National Football League to be the exclusive lodging category sponsor, led by its Courtyard by Marriott brand becoming the "Official Hotel Sponsor of the NFL." Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"This is the marriage of two powerhouse brands," said Brian King, senior vice president, Select Service and Extended Stay Brand Management, Marriott International. "Our Courtyard customer loves sports and we are excited to offer them access to one of the world's most powerful professional sports brands."

As is customary in the travel industry, look for a major component of the deal to be activation with the hotel brand's customer rewards program, Marriott Rewards, where customers can receive select experiences tied to the NFL.

"We are pleased to welcome Marriott International to our roster of NFL sponsors," said Keith Turner, senior vice president of Sponsorship and Media Sales. "We look forward to working with Courtyard and the Marriott portfolio to bring our fans and their customers closer to our game in unique ways."

Courtyard has had a four year relationship with NFL Network, NFL.com and NFL Mobile from Verizon which will continue throughout the partnership. Additional NFL activation opportunities are included in Canada and the United Kingdom and Marriott brands will be the preferred choice for the NFL's business travel and meetings. #dealstag
