CT Man Rolls the Dice With Life Insurance. Wins $10K

A Connecticut man won $10,000 at Saturday's Big East Women's Championship as part of New York Life's activation of the firm's presenting sponsorship of the Big East Women's Tournament. By rolling the New York Life logos three times in the "Cube Toss Challenge," he won the grand prize - $10,000 and the New York Life edition of The Game of Life, licensed by Hasbro.

Mark Pfaff, executive vice president of New York Life, who attended the Saturday games, said, "The Big East fans were treated to exciting basketball action throughout the day, and during the break, New York Life was proud to keep the excitement going with a fun contest to help the fans learn about the selfless gift of life insurance and the importance of buying from a safe and secure insurer. What an outstanding venue and a terrific, family environment! Our congratulations to the winners of the contest and to all of the athletes competing in this great tournament."

There were 24 contestants during the March 5-7 games (two per game) and two winners. The odds of winning the $10,000 grand prize are 216 to 1. Besides the New York Life logo and "Safe and Secure," other phrases on the cubes included "Agents You Trust," "Peace of Mind," "164 Years Strong," and "Join Our Team."

The "Cube Toss Challenge" continues throughout the remainder of the Women's Tournament and at every game of the upcoming Men's Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden. New York Life is the presenting sponsor of both the women's and men's Big East tournaments.
