Donald Dell: Sponsorship to Recover in 2010
Donald Dell, one of the first professional sports agents, and "one of the sports marketing business" according to Wikipedia, had some optimistic news for sponsorship marketers yesterday.
In an interview with Bloomberg, he predicted sponsorships will pick up in the second quarter of next year.
“It’ll come back in about six months," the founder of ProServ management (later acquired by SFX) said in New York. “Everybody is in a holding pattern.”
Until then, deals may be few and far between according to Dell, who joined Blue Equity as group president in 2006.
“Everybody on that side of the business is scared,” said Dell.
Dell has been enshrined into the ITA College Tennis Hall of Fame and was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2009. In addition, he is currently the Vice Chairman of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
