EA: It's [the wrong sponsor] in the Game

"It's [the wrong sponsor] in the game." EA's much anticipated FIFA 11 launched earlier this month with an old uniform and outdated sponsor, leaving Lincoln City FC fans up in arms and the global game publisher scrambling to fix the error.

Thanks to online gaming technology, EA intends to roll out an update with the correct kit in the next couple of weeks.

"Currently Lincoln City are featured in FIFA 11 in last season's kit, with the old sponsor," Senior PR manager at EA Sports Shaun White said. "We are aware of this error and we apologise to the club, sponsor and fans and we are working towards a fix featuring new club sponsor, GoCar."

Since its beginning in the early 90's, EA's FIFA franchise has been localized to 18 languages and available in 51 countries worldwide, selling more than 68 million copies.
