FIFA Lands Final 2010 World Cup Sponsor
Brazilian poultry processor, Seara, has signed up as a sponsor of the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. Seara, a subsidiary of the Marfrig Group, will be the final sponsor signed for this summer's 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, officials announced.
The agreement provides rights for the general use of the FIFA Official Marks in advertising campaigns and product packaging for the Marfrig Group worldwide. Seara and other Marfrig Group brands such as Moy Park, Paty and Pemmican will receive promotional exposure at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups as well as FIFA Confederations Cup events.
“Football is a great passion worldwide and the sport helps improve quality of life and bring people together. This is perfectly aligned with our communication strategy for the Seara brand, which offers healthy, delicious and high-quality food to consumers worldwide,” said Marcos Antonio Molina dos Santos, Marfrig Group CEO.
Seara is also the official sponsor of Brazil’s national team and Brazilian football club, Santos.
“We are proud to welcome the Marfrig Group and in particular Seara to join us in delivering the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and 2014,” the FIFA President, said. “Sponsorship support is especially pleasing when it comes from such a well-known brand that clearly demonstrates a commitment to football at both domestic and international levels.”
In a deal announced last month, Brazilian telecommunications company Oi, became the first Brazilian FIFA World Cup Sponsor for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
