Frontier Named Official Airline of the LPGA

The LPGA has secured a major new non-endemic partner, in the form of Frontier Airlines. The Denver-based airline will become the official airline of the LPGA, providing discounted travel to LPGA constituents and receiving prominent branding at LPGA Tournaments, and on LPGA.com

“The LPGA has an excellent reputation built on positive fan experiences and a real commitment to giving back to its community,” said Ian Arthur, vice president of marketing and branding for Frontier Airlines. “This partnership is a tremendous opportunity for Frontier to secure significant visibility with an audience that clearly appreciates the similar commitments these two organizations have to providing a better and different guest experience.”

“Frontier Airlines uses the tagline ‘a whole different animal,’ which represents the commitment to do the little things that make a big difference to customers,” said Jon Podany, LPGA Chief Marketing Officer. “At the LPGA, we have a similar campaign called ‘See Why It’s Different Out Here.’ No matter how you phrase it, we are both focused on providing unique and positive experiences for our consumers and partners.”

In recent weeks, the LPGA has also introduced new marketing partnerships with Korean golf ball-maker, Volvik, and derivatives and futures exchange company, CME Group.

For Volvic, in additional to TV advertising, creating sponsored content online and having a presence at select LPGA events, the colored golf ball brand will sponsor the Volvik Shot of the Day on Golf Channel.

In March, the LPGA announced that CME Group (CME) had signed a three-year agreement to title sponsor the season-ending Titleholders tournament. The inaugural CME Group Titleholders will serve as the LPGA Tour’s season finale. Watch the interview below with CME Group Executive Chairman, Terry Duffy, to learn more what the draw was for CME.
