HP Teams Up With Davis Cup Tennis
The world’s largest technology company has teamed up with tennis' team competition, Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, in a four-year agreement, which sees HP become the Official Technology Sponsor.
One hundred and thirty-three nations have entered the 2010 competition, which starts this week, and approximately 60 nations will host ties throughout the year.
Title sponsor BNP Paribas is entering its tenth year of sponsorship and in 2010 is joined by six other worldwide sponsors and partners: Turismo Madrid (Official Tourist Destination), HP (Official Technology Sponsor), Rolex (Official Timekeeper), Hugo Boss (Official Men's Fashion Clothing Sponsor), NH Hoteles (Official Hotel) and Wilson Sporting Goods (Official Ball Partner).
In addition to on-court banners and on-site hospitality, HP's expertise and products will be showcased in Davis Cup ties throughout the length of the agreement.
HP will also advise the ITF on new ways to develop its information technology systems and internet properties.
The ITF currently owns the world's largest tennis database, and its group of websites include the official Davis Cup websites, DavisCup.com and DavisCup.com/es.
ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti welcomed the announcement stating: “The company has a huge global reach and diverse customer base, and we believe HP will be an outstanding partner for Davis Cup by BNP Paribas.
“Technology is one of the world’s true growth areas, and we look forward to working with HP on the enhancement of our own technology systems,” Bitti added.
