Live Nation Lands Gexa Energy For Dallas Amphitheater
Live Nation Entertainment and Houston-based Gexa Energy today announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement that gives Gexa Energy naming rights for the downtown Dallas amphitheater previously known as Superpages.com Center. Terms of the deal were not released.
“This investment underscores our commitment of supporting the communities we serve,” notes Victor Howard, Gexa Energy’s senior director, marketing and customer care. “It is certainly one of the most visible sponsorships our company has undertaken.”
“The new agreement expands on our previous sponsor relationship with Gexa Energy,” said Maureen Ford, Venue Network president at Live Nation. “Gexa Energy’s commitment to the community and green energy makes this a great fit, enabling them to reach, engage and connect with live music fans and their customers.”
The Dallas Observer notes that this is the 5th name change for the outdoor pavilion since its opening in 1988. Previous names included partners included Coca-Cola Starplex Amphitheatre, Starplex, Smirnoff Music Center and Superpages.com Center before acquiring the name Gexa Energy Pavilion earlier today.
Opened in 1988, Gexa Energy Pavilion has hosted over 600 concert events for over six million patrons, making it the Metroplex’s premiere and longest running outdoor facility dedicated solely to live concert events.
