Logo Mishap Lands Pak Cricket in Hot Water
A sponsor of the the Pakistan national cricket team was up in arms on Monday after the team played their first two internationals in Sri Lanka with jerseys that were missing an official sponsor's logo. After the complaint was lodged new jerseys were rushed (with the sponsor's logo) just in time for the team's third One-dayer at Dambulla yesterday, according to the report.
"Apparently when the one-day kit of the team was sent to Sri Lanka earlier neither the team management including the manager nor anyone in the logistics and marketing departments of the board noticed that the sponsor`s logos were missing on the players shirts," the source said.
The report also states that the sponsor, who pays an annual seven figure sum to the Pakistan Cricket Board, threatened to take legal action for breach of contract as a result of the action.
In unrelated news, Pak Cricket has begun discussions to fill official sponsorship of the shipping services category.
