Lollapalooza's Environmentally Friendly Official Water Fits Green Theme

Environmentally friendly spring water brand, h2O, will be the official water sponsor of Lollapalooza in Chicago this August. The exclusive water offered at the festival, the spring water which comes in a paper container claims to have minimal environmental impact. The deal is part of Lollapalooza sustainability efforts on-site, which which include biodegradable promo items and recycled print materials. .


"h2O allows the Festival to eliminate plastic water bottles sold on festival grounds, an important initiative for Lollapalooza's environmental efforts. h2O helps us achieve our goal to keep patrons hydrated while leaving a minimal impact on the environment," said Lollapalooza Services Manager Emily Stengel. "We also encourage fans to recycle used h2O cartons through our "Rock & Recycle" initiative, a rewards program allowing fans to earn festival swag through recycling."

Made mostly from paper, instead of plastic, h2O bottles are said to use less energy in their production and shipping, and can be recycled in a process called hydra pulping.

"h2O is perfect for enjoying hot, summer concerts like Lollapalooza," said h2O founder and president, Julie Atherton. "We're proud to be a part of the eco-conscious mission of the festival and offer music fans an alternative to plastic bottled water."
