Mizzou Athletics Gets An Official FroYo
Red Mango, the Dallas-based frozen yogurt chain with more than 130 locations across 25 states, has signed a marketing and sponsorship agreement with Mizzou Athletics. The deal marks the second agreement of this kind for Red Mango and an NCAA Division 1-A athletic program.
As part of the sponsorship deal, Red Mango will now be served at the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex.
"We're excited to team up with Red Mango in providing our student-athletes with a product that works so well with their needs," said Jana Heitmeyer, director of sports nutrition at Mizzou. "Red Mango yogurt with the natural probiotics, helps support the immune and digestive systems in each athlete - both of which are critical to producing optimal performance. Their yogurt provides our athletes with a healthy, all-natural, low-calorie product that provides calcium and protein without the use of any artificial sweetener."
Red Mango also provides its signature smoothies to student athletes through the Department of Athletics at Baylor University.
"Athletes and our frozen yogurt and smoothies are a natural fit together," said Dan Kim, founder and chief concept officer of Red Mango. "Because of their intense, competitive lifestyle, they can enjoy the health benefits our yogurt provides in a refreshing format."
The deal was negotiated by Mizzou Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Communications Inc., which manages the multi-media rights for the University of Missouri Athletic Department.
