NFL Approves Barclays Partnership for Branded Credit Cards

Barclaycard US, the payments business of Barclays in the United States, has reached an exclusive multi-year agreement with the National Football League to market credit cards bearing the NFL shield logo and the logos of each of the 32 NFL clubs. Fans may obtain these credit cards from Barclaycard starting in September via the web, at stadium displays, through in-bound telephone applications and via email and direct mail invitations.

The cards will enable users to earn points for every dollar spent which may be redeemed for unique NFL related experiences, game tickets, NFL licensed merchandise and more.

"We are looking forward to working with Barclaycard to bring its customized approach to co-branded credit cards to our fans," said Keith Turner, the NFL's Senior Vice President of Media Sales & Sponsorship.

“We’re thrilled to have been selected by the National Football League to bring convenient and rewarding payment products to the sport’s many loyal fans and we’re looking forward to getting started,” said Scott Young, General Manager-Partnerships, Barclaycard US.

Barclaycard will take over for Bank of America/MBNA, which has had held the rights for issuing NFL branded credit cards since 1995.
