Nikon Unveils Social Media Strategy for MTV Awards

Nikon, the Official Camera Sponsor of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, will take viewers up close and personal through pre-show, red carpet and online content featuring “iCarly” actress Miranda Cosgrove.


New this year, celebrities and award nominees can capture their experiences through two standalone multimedia booths, powered by Nikon digital cameras. These images and videos will be unveiled throughout the broadcast on Nikon's Facebook Fan Page and will appear online in a Nikon Digital Flipbook on MTV.com, offering viewers at home the opportunity to follow the action.

Following Nikon’s presence at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, the company will partner with actress Miranda Cosgrove, who will use a Nikon COOLPIX S8000 to capture photos and videos of her 2010 MTV experience as it unfolds. Miranda’s entire documented experience will be showcased on MTV.com. The sponsorship includes three 30-second television segments, scheduled to air on June 5 and June 6, in which Miranda meets up with MTV News to give the inside scoop on her debut at the MTV Movie Awards.

Additionally, Nikon’s commercials starring Ashton Kutcher will air throughout the 2010 MTV Movie Awards broadcast.
