Octagon Adds To Mobile Offerings with New Impact Alliance

Octagon's Athletes and Personalities Division has signed a partnership with Impact Mobile Inc., a company that specializes in providing mobile messaging and technology to retailers, brands, media and entertainment providers, in order to broaden the mobile offerings it provides to its extensive portfolio of athlete and corporate clients. The alliance was formed by the sports marketing firm's Strategic Initiatives Group.

"We are very excited about working with Impact Mobile to provide interactive and personalized mobile marketing," says Giff Breed, Managing Director of Octagon's Strategic Initiatives Group. "Octagon is a leader in providing marketing expertise to engage consumers via their passion for sports and entertainment. Impact Mobile is working with Octagon to develop CRM and mobile commerce services across our entertainment partners to provide mobile couponing, ticketing, and affinity CRM programs integrated with mobile applications."

The agreement will combine Octagon's sports, event management and athlete sponsorship with Impact Mobile's expertise in providing mobile marketing solutions. As part of the agreement, Impact Mobile says that they will work with Octagon to "add mobile into the overall strategy for promoting events and athletes while engaging their audiences."

"We are very excited about working with Octagon to develop mobile services across all existing media touch points," says Gary Schwartz, CEO of Impact Mobile. "With mobile services we can increase the value of the media engagement and create a two-way dialogue with the consumer."

The partnership comes as agencies and endorsement brokers increasingly look outside their own office to expand the mobile offerings they can provide to clients. Earlier this month, Brand Affinity Technologies acquired mobile platform, Fantapper, to expand its celebrity-related offerings in the area, and in September, Leverage Agency partnered with Applicable to create an in-house division with mobile app capabilities.
