P&G Makes A Vancouver House A Home

Olympic families will need some R&R in Vancouver, too.

Procter & Gamble and the USOC today announced that the company will welcome U.S. Olympic athletes and their families in Vancouver, Canada, at the P&G Family Home, where families of athletes can come together during the downtime of the Olympic Winter Games.

The P&G Family Home will provide family members with a place to come together, watch the Olympic Winter Games, meet other Team USA families, and spend time with loved ones before and after competition. More than 300 athletes and coaches will be on the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team, each with access to the P&G Family Home at no cost.

"As proud partner of the U.S. Olympic Team, we are excited to support America's Olympic athletes and look forward to hosting them and their families at the P&G Family Home during the Olympic Winter Games," said Kirk Perry, Vice President, North America for P&G. "The Family Home will serve as the home-away-from-home for Team USA and those that mean the most to them."

At the Family Home, P&G's wide roster of brands will allow for Team USA and their families to "feel at home" during the games. Amenities and activities for Team USA and their families will include comfortable viewing lounges; an internet cafe; complimentary food and drink; pampering for moms at the P&G Beauty and Grooming Salon and Spa with quick refreshes to complete makeovers by Pantene, Covergirl, Olay, Venus and Secret; a Pampers play area for toddlers; a Crest/Oral B Smile Center; a Pringles Snack Lounge! and complimentary Tide laundry service.

"At the Olympic Winter Games, our athletes are deeply focused on being performance-ready and podium-prepared," said Lisa Baird, USOC's chief marketing officer. "The P&G Family Home will allow them to have peace of mind and spend stress-free, invaluable time with their families. In addition to providing a centralized location for the families of U.S. Olympians, the program gives Team USA a place to interact and celebrate their achievements."

The P&G Family Home will operate in Vancouver from February 11-28.
