Polish Expert Concludes Surnames Hurt Sponsorship Potential in Tennis

Straight from the Danish Daily Politiken, a local sponsorship expert says that brands have name bias when it comes to selecting tennis players for sponsorship contracts. Morten Christiansen says in the Danish daily Politiken that players with Eastern European names stand to make considerably less sponsorship money than their Western rivals.


‘Even though the USSR has fallen, and the Berlin wall has been dismantled, the concept of the grey, concrete world of Eastern Europe has endured,’ Christiansen said.
