Red Sox Sign Solar Company, FSG Gets New Client

Solar Blue, an Orlando-based company focused on energy conservation, has signed a sponsorship that will make it the "Official Energy Conservation Partner" of the Boston Red Sox. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the agreement with the Red Sox, Solar Blue logos and signage will be displayed at Fenway Park and Solar Blue will work with the team to explore ways to implement various energy conservation measures at the ballpark. This agreement expands an existing advertising relationship, established between Solar Blue and the Red Sox in 2009.

"As a leader in providing cutting-edge energy solutions to our clients, we couldn't be happier than to associate our brand with another true category leader, the Boston Red Sox, one of the most well known and well respected brands in all of sport," said Solar Blue Chief Executive Lee Maher. "Solar Blue is proud to work with the team to make Fenway Park a leader in energy conservation."

Solar Blue also announced today that it has retained Red Sox sister company Fenway Sports Group as the company's sports marketing agency of record. FSG will help Solar Blue shape its partnership marketing strategy and leverage FSG's network of clients and industry contacts to develop a comprehensive sports industry focused business-to-business program. The agency will also build strategic marketing initiatives, negotiate sponsorship agreements and provide tactical support for Solar Blue's sports marketing programs.

"We are also happy to announce our new relationship with Fenway Sports Group. FSG's unique combination of sports industry knowledge and strategic thinking and execution will be a major asset to our marketing efforts. FSG is just the type of partner we need as we continue to expand our brand footprint throughout the national marketplace," Maher continued.

"It is terrific to simultaneously launch FSG's new relationship with Solar Blue and announce their new marketing sponsorship agreement with the Boston Red Sox," said Fenway Sports Group Managing Director Mark Lev. "The Red Sox and their fan base, 'Red Sox Nation,' are passionate about energy conservation and protecting the environment and this new relationship with Solar Blue will contribute to ongoing efforts to make America's Most Beloved Ballpark one of America's Greenest Ballparks. From the perspective of Fenway Sports Group, we are thrilled to help Solar Blue expand their footprint further into the sports community, and look forward to working with the Red Sox to create unique sponsorship assets for the company."
