Sponsor A Rainy Day

RainedOut says it is the first text message service for sports leagues and clubs, and now when it rains, sponsors win! Starting today, all RainedOut text messages will contain a national sponsor incorporated at the end of the RainedOut notification. The first national sponsor is Sony's video portal, Crackle.

Established in 2004, the company says that RainedOut is used by more than 2,000 organizations, primarily youth and high school sports leagues it seems.

"This is an outstanding opportunity for all involved," explained Ara Bagdasarian, CEO of Omnilert. "RainedOut customers will continue to enjoy our award-winning communication service free of charge, and national brands can sponsor sports organizations and receive recognition on each message."

Omnilert, the maker of RainedOut, says 95% of text messages are read within 4 minutes of being sent, creating what it calls 'situation-based advertising.'

"A day-changing event [like a rain out] for a customer creates a new opportunity to spend time and money," the company says.

Maybe Weatherproof will text back with an offer?
