Sponsors Look to Cash In On New Year's Resolutions

Many marketers look to cash in on New Year's resolutions this time of year, but did you know some properties will let you sponsor one too?


Instant online credit information provider, Equifax, is aiming to help consumers better manage their finances in 2010 as a co-sponsor of Londons New Year's Day Parade and Festival.

The New Year's Day Parade, which has become a fixture of London's celebrations, has adopted a theme of New Years Resolutions with its Top Ten for 2010. Equifax is sponsoring the Financial Resolution with the message "Get Your Finances in Order."

The last year to 18 months have been an enormous challenge for families and individuals as many have juggled increased living costs with reduced income, Neil Munroe, External Affairs Director, Equifax said.

"After the inevitable Christmas spending spree it will be even more important for consumers to know exactly what they have to repay so that they can avoid a real New Year financial hangover and so that they can get the best credit deals going forward. And we believe getting a copy of their credit report is a key step in that process. Thats why were delighted to be one of the sponsors of Londons New Year's Day Parade highlighting the power of knowing whats on your credit file."

The New Year's Day Parade and Festival London offers partners the opportunity to sponsor a New Year's resolution. Resolution sponsors include:

    "Equifax's goal is to help consumers manage their finances by giving them the insight and control of their credit information," continued Neil Munroe.

    As a key sponsor, the Equifax message Get Your Finances in Order will be promoted through the Parade website and on posters going up throughout the London Underground network in December as well as through the Parade on New Year's Day.

    The parade - which starts at The Ritz Hotel at 12 Noon sharp - features 8,500 performers from numerous nations and more than 500,000 spectators along the 2.2 mile route.
