Sponsorship Draws Attention to Sustainable Fashion

Can fashion have a positive impact on the environment? Can green clothing be sexy? Is it sustainable to create slow fashion and can second-hand be futuristic? These are some of the questions that emerging designers are being tasked with through Denmark's Innovating Sustainable Fashion design contest and fashion show.

The design contest will culminate in a fashion show on December 2nd during the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

Not surprisingly, some green/fashion-savvy brands have supported the cause including Aveda, Origins, the model agency Unique Models and The Danish Design Centre.

"Our sponsorship of Innovating Sustainable Fashion seemed obvious to us and represents a great opportunity to show that it is possible to be at the cutting edge of the beauty and fashion industry and still show consideration for the environment," said Susanne Wildbork, Brand Manager for Origins in Scandinavia.

Aveda is also friendly to eco-fashion initiatives.

"Aveda is committed to environmental and social responsibility and we are thrilled to support Innovating Sustainable Fashion whose focus on sustainability is completely aligned with Aveda's 30-year mission to take care of the world we live in," Vincenzo Minore, General Manager, Aveda UK/Scandinavia said.

Have you thought about how your partners, or prospective partners, can tap into your property's existing eco-friendly activities for a more sustainable environment?
