State Farm To Spend $5.4M Sponsoring New Jersey's Roadside Assistance Team

New Jersey's roadside assistance program is expected to get a boost to its coffers today when State Farm Insurance announces it will pay $5.4 million over three years to sponsor the state's Safety Service Patrol. The Star-Ledger has the full story here.

"It meets the mission of what we are all about, from a safety perspective," State Farm spokesman Dave Phillips told NJ.com. "Part of State Farm’s mission is to help people recover from the unexpected."

The cost savings from the sponsorship are expected to help fix roadways throughout the state. Similar sponsorships by the insurance firm have been rolled out in recent years with the New York State Department of Transportation at $10.8 million over five years and Georgia Department of Transportation at $5.1 million over three years.
