SunPeaks Closes More Sports Deals To Support Geo Expansion

Since we first wrote about Clotamin back in early April, the product's parent company, SunPeaks Ventures, has signed a rash of recent sports deals to promote its retail partnerships in a number of key markets. Zak's calls SunPeaks Ventures "a relatively new player in the $300 billion U.S. Pharmaceutical market" and today, the company is again getting a big stock bounce on the back of its first college athletics sponsorship.

In the past six weeks alone, the company has locked down partnerships with:

• The Portland Trailblazers

• The Arizona Cardinals

• Minor League Baseball's Dayton Dragons

• New York's WFAN 660AM

• a Division I-A college sports program

The brand's latest sponsorship deal, like its others, is aimed at growing initial awareness and supporting the brand's push into new markets.

"We have already been effective at establishing a distribution network in target markets and with select successful sports programs, and Clotamin is now available at locations in the target regions," said Mackie A. Barch, CEO of Sunpeaks Ventures. "This agreement is meant to leverage that success with local and national popularity of select well-known professional and college sports programs."

Clotamin's partnerships will be used through point-of-sale promotions at its retail partners, which include Walgreens, Navarro Discount Pharmacies, Bravo Supermarkets, and Winn-Dixie.

In addition to its sponsorship deals, the company is signing celebrities that have high relevancy with their consumers to participate in its media inventory. So far these include Paul Silas and Boomer Esiason, among others.

Key markets where the company has thus far announced marketing partnerships include Portland, New York, D.C., Cincinnati-Dayton, and Phoenix. Next up may be Miami. Clotamin will be available at 57 Winn-Dixie locations in South Florida starting in May 2012.
