Texas Company Turns A Commodity Into A Cause

Dallas-based Branded Retail Energy Company continues to expand its affinity energy program. Baylor University Athletics is the latest school to partner with Branded Retail Energy, which will become the official electricity sponsor of the school's athletics program. The company has similar deals in place to sell branded energy to fans and alumni of the University of Texas, Texas A&M, SMU and the University of Illinois. Branded Retail Energy will manage the marketing and sponsorship elements of the affinity energy program, which is already signing up customers.

Powered by retail electricity provider, Champion Energy, Branded Retail Energy will provide a $100,000 sponsorship commitment to Baylor Athletics in the first year of the program. In addition, the program works by providing a portion of revenue generated from each customer account to the sponsored university's athletic program. Aside from helping a cause fans are passionate about, customers then also have an exclusive opportunity to receive game tickets, special offers on Baylor gear and access to special promotions through the program.

Baylor Bear Energy is the official electricity sponsor of Baylor Athletics and will have a significant presence at athletic events.

"In this inaugural year, Baylor Bear Energy has committed significant financial support to the University and its Athletics program," said Jason Helms, president and CEO of Branded Retail Energy. "With the support we anticipate from Baylor students, alumni and fans, we expect the revenue support to the University to grow significantly."
