The SEC Now Has An Official Auto and Powersports Auction Partner
Powersports and pigskin seems like a marriage made in the SEC. So it is that IronPlanet Motors, a California-based online auction site for used autos and powersports, has become the official online automotive and powersports auction site of the Southeastern Conference and all SEC Championship events. Terms of the deal, which will run through 2014, were not released.
IronPlanet Motors will look to tap into college sports fans who are in the market for used cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, jet skis, boats and RVs. Additionally, IronPlanet Motors will have a presence at the Dr Pepper SEC FanFare during the Conference's annual football championship weekend and men's basketball tournament. These two events, held in conjunction with the respective SEC Championships, draw more than 60,000 SEC fans each year.

"The SEC is an exciting new avenue for IronPlanet Motors to engage car, truck and powersports buyers."
Through online auctions, IronPlanet Motors connects buyers and sellers of cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, jet skis, boats and RVs. IronPlanet Motors conducts detailed inspections on the items it sells and provides the inspection reports free of charge at www.ironplanetmotors.com. Reports include detailed photos and condition ratings of the interior, exterior, engine compartment and all major accessories.
The sponsorship contract was negotiated by IMG College, who one could argue is already having a pretty good week.
