U.S. Cellular Signs First Official NBA Team Deal

While on the court, the Oklahoma City Thunder look to push on to the Western Conference Finals, off the court the team recently announced a three-year partnership that will make U.S. Cellular the official wireless sponsor of the team. Financial terms were not released.


During the 2011-12 season, U.S. Cellular's interactive kiosk will let fans check out U.S. Cellular's devices and learn about the benefits of switching to U.S. Cellular. The sponsorship will also create the Thunder Text Alert Program which will provide text alerts with up-to-date on scores, team information, breaking news and special promotions.

"U.S. Cellular is enhancing the experience for Thunder fans by providing more fun activities and giving them new opportunities to see this exciting team play," said Tommy Arens, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Oklahoma. "We're looking forward to creating traditions for families and friends attending games and are proud to partner with the Oklahoma City Thunder to bring these new amenities to the arena."

U.S. Cellular's first major sponsorship with an NBA organization includes enhancing the arena with the U.S. Cellular Loft, a premium seating section within the Oklahoma City Arena. In arena, U.S. Cellular also will support all Oklahoma City Thunder texting contests and promotions.

"We look forward to having an outstanding partnership with U.S. Cellular," said John Croley, vice president of business development for the Thunder. "We are excited to start this new relationship and improve the game-day experience for fans of all ages at Oklahoma City Thunder games."
