UFC Dials Up Official Wireless Sponsor

The UFC as signed Boost Mobile as the official wireless sponsor and to celebrate its entry into the sport, Boost Mobile will present the heavyweight showdown UFC 121 this weekend in Anaheim, California. Terms of the deal were not released

The deal with Boost comes on the heels of the latest argument in an ongoing spat between fighter agents and UFC management over what categories are off limits for fighter sponsorship.

“This is an ideal partner for Boost as the sport aligns well with our competitive nature and will give our brand heightened visibility with UFC’s avid and growing fan base.” “The popularity of UFC has exploded during the past few years, solidifying its position as a mainstream competitive sport,” said Bob Stohrer, vice president-Marketing, Boost Mobile. “This is an ideal partner for Boost as the sport aligns well with our competitive nature and will give our brand heightened visibility with UFC’s avid and growing fan base.”

As part of the sponsorship, Boost Mobile will present the “Your Town. Our Fighter.” nationwide sweepstakes, starting on Oct. 23rd whereby consumers can register online at www.yourtownourfighter.com or text the abbreviation “UFC” to 66937 for a chance to win an assortment of prizes, including a VIP viewing party with a UFC fighter.

“Boost Mobile has been my greatest supporter,” said Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Boost Mobile athlete and former UFC light heavyweight champion. “I am happy they have been able to step up and partner with the UFC.”

In addition to the “Your Town. Our Fighter.” national sweepstakes, Boost Mobile will activate on-site with a "Seek and Destroy" promotion at UFC 121 where fans can check out the “Seek” area to learn more about the Samsung Seek and can “Destroy” their competition by playing a video game where the fan with the strongest punch wins upgraded seats for the final two fights of that event.

“We're pleased to team up with Boost Mobile, a company with innovative ideas that will take the UFC 121 fan experience to the next level,” said Dana White, president, UFC. “Lesnar vs. Velasquez is the biggest heavyweight title fight in UFC history, and now with Boost Mobile you can get even closer to the action.”
