Under Armour to Outfit Chelsea Piers

Chelsea Piers, the 28-acre amateur sports and entertainment complex on Manhattan's west side, has unveiled a new deal with Under Armour that will make it the Official Athletic Apparel and Footwear sponsor of the Chelsea Piers. Deal terms were not released.

Under Armour will outfit the trainers, coaches and instructors at the Field House, which features indoor soccer, basketball, batting, rock climbing and gymnastics for both adults and children, as well as outfit the personal training staff at the Sports Center health club, Chelsea Piers’ fitness and training center. In addition, Under Armour will also be the exclusive athletic performance apparel brand sold at the two sports venues.

“Under Armour is a brand renowned for innovation and quality,” commented Dana Thayer, Senior Vice President of Sponsorship and Marketing at Chelsea Piers. “This revolutionary company has provided performance apparel and footwear to some of the best athletes and organizations in the world. Their commitment to authentic sports matches perfectly with our brand. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Piers.”

“We are excited to partner with Chelsea Piers – Manhattan’s premier sports facility and the largest health club and gym in New York City,” said Adrienne Lofton, Senior Brand Marketing Director, Under Armour. “This partnership provides Under Armour with the opportunity to connect with some of the most passionate athletes across all levels and disciplines in the city; we are proud to be their official outfitter.”

Chelsea Piers adds Under Armour to its already extensive sponsorship roster, which includes Capital One Bank, Coca-Cola, IZOD, Johnnie Walker and jetBlue Airways.
