USA Water Polo Adds Another Food Product To Its Sponsor Portfolio
USA Water Polo will have no shortage of snacks in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic Games. Having already secured an official snack food and an official dried fruit, the organization has named Nestlé chocolate milk brand, Nesquik, the official flavored milk and recovery drink of USA Water Polo. In preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games, Nesquik will be provided to the USA Men's and Women's Senior National Teams in their training leading up to the Games and players will make appearances on behalf of the brand. Terms of the deal were not released.
Throughout the deal, Nesquik will support USAWP's social media platforms, submit special content for inclusion in SkipShot magazine, the official publication of USA Water Polo and be promoted at USAWP events through program listings and public address announcements.
"A recovery drink such as low-fat Nesquik chocolate milk is a great recovery option for the USA Water Polo National Team athletes," said Shawn Dolan, US Olympic Committee Sport Dietitian. "It is easy for them to grab between weights and a pool session or after a session before their next meal. The combination of carbohydrate, protein, and fluid allows them to replenish and begin the adaptation process after a hard training session. And, the athletes enjoy it!"

As part of its viral marketing efforts, Nestlé has recently been using its iconic Nesquik bunny at a variety of shopping, sports and entertainment venues. Watch below as he attempts to catch a home run ball outside AT&T Park in McCovey Cove. Presumably, he'll now be making appearances at upcoming USA Water Polo events as well.
