Visa Apologizes For Olympic Ticket Snafu
Less than a day after London 2012 Olympics tickets went on sale yesterday, it seems a glitch may be preventing, according to the Daily Mail's estimates, nearly 10% of all Visa cardholders, from purchasing tickets. The trouble apparently stems from the fact that while orders are being taken for more than 6.5 million tickets through the official Ticketmaster site, cardholders will not actually be charged for their tickets until later in the Summer, at which time their card must still be valid. Seems another Olympics sponsor may directly benefit from the mishap. Until the issue is resolved, ticket seekers can go to a branch of Lloyds TSB where they can pay by card, cash or check.
A Visa Europe spokesman said: ‘We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to those cardholders who are having problems applying for London 2012 tickets.
