Vivid & Velocity Join Forces For Team Epic

Velocity Sports & Entertainment and Vivid Marketing have announced that they are joining forces to create a new lifestyle marketing agency called Team Epic. In addition to the capabilities of Velocity and Vivid, Team Epic will include market research firm SRi, and digital agency, Isobar. Each of these agencies is part of Aegis Media.

According to an announcement detailing the new agency, Team Epic will be built on "four key pillars:"

  • Strategic lifestyle marketing and sponsorship management (Velocity Sports & Entertainment)
  • Experiential marketing with vast field resources (Vivid Marketing)
  • Digital marketing capabilities through a greater level of partnership with the largest digital global agency network (Isobar)
  • Market research and measurement analytics (Sponsorship Research International)

According to the announcement, Team Epic's current client list includes FedEx, IBM, Sports Illustrated, Charles Schwab, and Mars Chocolate NA.

“Team Epic has been developed with an eye on today’s consumer trends,” said current Velocity Principal Mike Reisman. “We believe it is critical to provide our clients forward thinking ideas to get as close to their consumers – both B2B and B2C – in the most intimate, compelling and measurable ways. Our vision for Team Epic, one that is shared across all Aegis Media operations, is to deliver best in class, customized services to our clients. The seamless integration of live experiences and digital platforms is exactly what the convergent marketplace demands.”

The hope is that the combined talent base, which will include over 200 employees, will allow the newly formed agency to offer cross-functional client teams that operate absent of the silo'd environment sometimes found within traditional agencies. The newly formed firm will retain offices in Norwalk, Connecticut, Atlanta, Charlotte, Boston, San Francisco, and London.

“Core to the Team Epic brand promise is the idea of “personalization,” said current Vivid Principal Erik Peterson. “We believe this is a pervasive thread which runs through the fabric of this new organization – whether guiding brands to develop personal relationships with consumers; the long standing personal relationships we have with our clients; and, the intensely personal approach we have to developing a top in industry culture for our employees.”

“This is particularly compelling for our future clients,” said current Velocity Principal Dave Grant. “Too many agencies compartmentalize their services in the areas of digital, experiential, market research and strategy. We believe our difference will be the ability to streamline services in a highly productive manner.”

Team Epic will be managed by an Executive Committee of current Velocity Principals Dave Grant, Mike Reisman, Bob Wilhelmy and Alex Nieroth and Vivid Principals Erik Peterson and Andy Cook (who will be Team Epic’s Chief Creative Officer).
