Wasserman Adds To Activation Capabilities With Agency Acquisition

Wasserman Media Group has acquired London-based experiential marketing agency Ignite. Ignite, which helps corporate clients like Barclays, Vodafone, Sky and others activate sponsored events, was founded in 2002.

The acquisition will complement Wasserman's deep roots in rights and representation by adding more than 10 years worth of experience and 50+ employees devoted to sponsorship activation.

“We are incredibly excited to be joining Wasserman as the acquisition provides us with an unlimited opportunity to work across the company to deliver superior experiential campaigns for their clients while integrating our clients into their global network," Ignite’s group managing director Fred Porro said. “The company’s leadership, commitment to excellence and reputation for providing best-in-class work for some of the world’s smartest brands, properties, media outlets, and athletes offer us the opportunity to immediately add more value to our current clients and team.”

“Ignite’s experience and capabilities will further enable our teams to connect key client strategic initiatives directly with the audiences they are working to engage," Casey Wasserman, chairman and CEO of Wasserman Media Group, added.

Recently named Event Magazine’s Brand Experience Agency of the Year, Ignite will retain 50 employees in London and Miami who will be joining Wasserman's corporate consulting division, which counts American Express and PepsiCo among its current clients. Judging from Ignite's new domain redirect, it seems likely that the company will be rebranded as Wasserman Experience.
