Watch U.S. Open Champ, Andy Murray, Freak Out About His Missing Watch

Having lost all of his four previous Grand Slam finals, you'd like to think Andy Murray could relax a little after finally winning his first, the U.S. Open, last night. However, among Murray's first words after getting the monkey off his back, surprisingly were "have you got my watch?" Afterall, one of the most coveted PR moments for tennis sponsors is the trophy shot.

While Federer has the Rolex routine down to a tee, Murray, in his first grand slam celebration, had to scramble to find his Rado watch as U.S. Open officials were preparing the trophy ceremony. Swiss watchmaker only recently started a partnership with Murray in June of this year. After motioning for help, he limped over to his box after the epic 5 hour+ match and got some help from girlfriend, Kim Sears. The scramble to satisfy his watch sponsor starts at about the 5:20 mark in the video below.

By the time the Men's championship trophy was presented, the Rado D-Star Automatic Chronograph was in its rightful place -- the left arm of Andy Murray. While Murray's current off court earnings are estimated at £7 million, with his victories at the Olympics and now U.S. Open, some predict that Murray could triple his endorsement income in 2013.
