Yanks Loss Will Cost Sponsor $1 Million+ in Revenue

East coast fans might not have much baseball to watch with the Yankees, Red Sox and Phillies all now knocked out of the MLB post-season. For Yankees sponsor, Steiner Sports, the recent loss cuts a little deeper. According to Bloomberg, Steiner Sports will lose at least $1 million in revenue.

"It’s a seven-figure miss,” Brandon Steiner said in a telephone interview. “Now I really have to start working for a living.”

Steiner says the New Rochelle, New York-based company sells more memorabilia associated with the Yankees and Boston Red Sox than any other Major League Baseball teams. Boston missed the postseason after surrendering a nine-game September lead to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Steiner Sports is the Official Collectibles/Game Used Company of the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, and is owned by global advertising, marketing and corporate communications company, Omnicom.
