Banco BMG is one of Brazil's major retail banks. The bank, formerly known as Banco de Minas Gerais S.A., was founded in 1930. Banco BMG had a minority share in a joint venture with Brazil’s Itaú Unibanco, called Itau BMG Consignado, which lent to customers who hold payroll accounts, until December 2016 when Itau bought BMG's remaining share.[1]

FC Barcelona and Banco BMG have signed a new sponsorship deal whereby the latter, one of the leading banks in Brazil, becomes a regional partner of the club in the Brazilian market for three seasons, through to 30 June 2022. The deal makes Banco BMG Barça’s new partner in the Americas, a region managed directly from the club’s office in New York.
