Bombay Sapphire is a brand of gin distributed by Bacardi that was launched in 1987. Its name originates from the gin's popularity in India in of the days of the British Raj and the sapphire in question is the Star of Bombay on display at the Smithsonian Institution.[1] Bombay Sapphire is marketed in a flat-sided, sapphire-coloured bottle that bears a picture of Queen Victoria on the label.[2]

Following a sold-out 2010 New York City launch and a just as successful 2011, attracting over 10,000 guests over two years, we are expanding into other North American markets with both the Festival as well as year-round custom events crafted for corporate partners who seek to reach culturally-sophisticated, global-minded consumers. In 2012, the LUCKYRICE Festival is heading west to Las Vegas (July 21) and Los Angeles (June 23).

The festival, which attracted more than 5,000 people in each of its first two years, will be held May 1-6, and will feature "eight auspicious events," including a Chinese wedding banquet prepared by chef Susur Lee, and a Grand Feast put together by chefs including Masaharu Morimoto and Ming Tsai.
